Ram Bahadur Bhandari, a 50-year-old from Barekot, Jajarkot, has faced an arduous journey with leprosy. His battle began nearly 30 years ago, marked by a persistent leg ulcer. After completing initial treatment in India, he thought his challenges were over, but two years ago, his condition relapsed. Despite spending NPR 200,000 on further treatment in India, his ulcer persisted. Financial strain prevented him from seeking additional care until January 2024, when he visited an INF Surkhet camp and was urged to continue treatment.
Finally reaching Shining Hospital in Banke, Ram Bahadur received specialised daily wound care. The staff not only tended to his ulcer but also taught him essential self-care techniques to manage his condition long-term. Over time, his wound began to heal, bringing relief after decades of pain.
The dedicated team at Shining Hospital restored his health and instilled hope, enabling him to regain independence and return home with a brighter outlook. Ram Bahadur expressed deep gratitude, saying,
“I’m so grateful for the care I received at Shining Hospital. The staff treated me like family. Thanks to them, my wound is healing, and I can look forward to better days with my loved ones.”
In the past fiscal year, Shining Hospital Banke has made a significant impact, treating many patients facing similar challenges. Of the 122 admissions, 76 were ulcer cases, with 59 as recurrent cases. Through compassionate, consistent care, Shining Hospital is helping patients like Ram Bahadur reclaim their lives.
